Leather soldier's shoulder belt, worn by H G Ellis
Victorian Gloucestershire Regiment Shoulder belt mounted with the badge of the 2nd Volunteer Battalion (the Campden Battalion) with whistle and lion’s head mount. Written in ink inside: H.G.Ellis. Bought at the Phillips auction sale at the Woolstaplers’ Museum, Lot 162 20/3/1996. Notes by Harry George Ellis, with photocopy of a photograph of H G Ellis together with his daughter Augusta c1915. Family tree of H G Ellis. Letter from Paul Hughes with a list of some of the men from Chipping Campden who served in the First World War, asking for details of them.
