We have several special-interest groups: some, such as the Family History Group, meet regularly for a friendly exchange of information, and others undertake topic-based research.

Campden's Changing Landscape

"Campden's Changing Landscape" Group started by looking at the remaining ridge and furrow fields in the parish but has now broadened out to a study of the Campden environs. The group members have walked the few remaining ridge and furrow fields and are now examining maps and aerial photographs.

Will Transcription

Another group is transcribing wills: nearly 1000 Campden wills are stored at Gloucestershire Archives and these are being photographed for later transcription. Two of our members are expert at reading the writing from the 1500's and 1600's while the rest of us struggle with the later years. A database is being developed which will enable researchers to make links with other sources of information.

Memories of Campden

Other members are recording people's memories of life in Campden: these are then used for enhancing our displays and presentations.
