One of the most distinctive Georgian houses in Campden is ‘Bedfont House’, admired by many visitors but with a little-known history. Said to have been built by the Woodward family of stone masons in the 1740s for Edward Cotterell, a quantity of papers from the Griffiths family is now providing more clues about the building and gardens, now split in different units.
The ‘Griffiths and Bedfont House’ research group is exploring more of the history and we will be posting our findings here.
